What is Link Building and why do I need it?                                             [back]

The latest changes in search engine technology has placed significant importance on the quality and quantity of backlinks to your website. Building backlinks is the process of developing relationships with other web sites through hyperlink exchanges with similar or related websites. Backlinking with other websites is a way to build popularity for your website. Google and other search engines measure your sites' popularity by analyzing your backlinking partners. Depending on the quantity and quality of your backlinks, the search engines will determine how popular your website is on the Internet. If the search engines determine that your website is 'popular', they will award you with higher rankings in their index.

There are two ways we build backlinks for your website:

          1) One-way Backlinks

          2) Article Syndication

One-way Backlinking

We will building one-way, content-related backlinks with websites that have a PageRank 2 or higher. Each keyword has varying competition and warrants different levels of link building. That is, we will build more backlinks for highly competitive keywords like “los angeles plastic surgery”, than we would for the keyword “los angeles laser hair removal”.

To determine the quality of links, we review several factors:

  1) Relevance of the link (whether it is from a broadly related field or not)

2) Quality of the link (what is the Page Rank value of the web page giving the link, whether the web page giving the link is a link farm, directory, etc.)

3) Value of the link (how many outgoing links are there on the web page giving the link)

4) Anchor text of the link (what is the source anchor text) - this basically increases the possibility of the website to rank for the particular keyword that is present in the anchor text.

Our Link Building Program ensures that these quality checks are met. We hand select each website that we request a link from, determining the quality of that particular web page, ensuring it is adhering to all the search engine ethics.

The number of backlinks acquired per web page will be determined by keyword competition and weight. However, adding backlinks too quickly to a website can put up a ‘red flag’ with search engine spiders. Therefore, a slow, steady, gradual building of backlinks is recommended. Backlinks are acquired over 2-3 month period.

Monthly reports are sent to monitor the link building process.

Article Syndication

Article syndication is the process of writing and submitting keyword-rich articles to other websites that link back to similar keyword-rich articles on your website.

Research suggests that Google’s algorithm measures the content relevancy of the pages that link back to your site to verify that both linking pages discuss the same topic. By submitting well written, keyword-rich content articles to various websites (such as online directories, online journals, ezines, blogs, etc.) for online publishing, your website can establish highly specific web pages that support the keywords of interest. There are many benefits to doing this:

  1) Well written advisory articles, which are successfully published on a number of different websites, help establish your site as an authority on a particular topic.

2) A single article can have multiple links coming back to your website, thus allowing you to get a number of links back to your site using various anchor texts.

3) A syndicated article allows you the freedom to "not" share the links on that web page with any other external domain.

4) Articles have a much longer life span. A well written article is usually not taken down and even after many months/years would be filed in the Archive Section of the website thereby giving your website long term benefits of the links embedded in those articles.

5) Articles on other websites are very strong sources of direct traffic to your website.

6) Articles syndicated on numerous websites, allow your articles to get ranked for some keywords and possibly having the capacity to capture a top 10 listing for a keyword in due course.

Syndication of optimized articles will be submitted to various general and industry specific websites, and broad-based content websites that accept articles from various industries, usually classified in industry-related categories. Some articles will be accepted and others will not. Pacific Internet has no ability to influence whether or not an article is accepted for publication when submitted to various web sites. However, we make every effort to ensure the submitted articles meet the guidelines set forth by each website.

Article Creation
SEO copywriter will construct a search-engine-friendly, keyword-rich article that entices the search engines and customers. Each article will be 300-400 words in length. Articles will be informative and educational in nature. All articles will be submitted to client for one round of article revisions. After revisions are made, they will be converted into HTML format in preparation for the submission process.

Submission of Articles to Selected Online Publications
Each article will be submitted to different online publication sites. The submission process varies for each site. Articles must be formatted to meet submission guidelines set forth by each online publication site. Each article will be customized with HTML, according to the publishing websites’ specifications.

Links to the published articles are sent via email each month for verification.
